22 亚伯兰对所多玛王说，我已经向天地的主至高的神耶和华起誓。
But Abram said to the king of Sodom； 〃I have raised my hand to the LORD； God Most High； Creator of heaven and earth； and have taken an oath
23 凡是你的东西，就是一根线，一根鞋带，我都不拿，免得你说，我使亚伯兰富足。
that I will accept nothing belonging to you； not even a thread or the thong of a sandal； so that you will never be able to say； 'I made Abram rich。'
24 只有仆人所吃的，并与我同行的亚乃，以实各，幔利所应得的分，可以任凭他们拿去。
I will accept nothing but what my men have eaten and the share that belongs to the men who went with meto Aner； Eshcol and Mamre。 Let them have their share。〃
1 这事以后，耶和华在异象中有话对亚伯兰说，亚伯兰，你不要惧怕，我是你的盾牌，必大大地赏赐你。
After this； the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision： 〃Do not be afraid； Abram。 I am your shield； your very great reward。〃
2 亚伯兰说，主耶和华阿，我既无子，你还赐我什么呢？并且要承受我家业的是大马色人以利以谢。
But Abram said； 〃O Sovereign LORD； what can you give me since I remain childless and the one who will inherit my estate is Eliezer of Damascus？〃
3 亚伯兰又说，你没有给我儿子。那生在我家中的人就是我的后嗣。
And Abram said； 〃You have given me no children； so a servant in my household will be my heir。〃
4 耶和华又有话对他说，这人必不成为你的后嗣。你本身所生的才成为你的后嗣。
Then the word of the LORD came to him： 〃This man will not be your heir； but a son ing from your own body will be your heir。〃
5 于是领他走到外边，说，你向天观看，数算众星，能数得过来吗？又对他说，你的后裔将要如此。
He took him outside and said； 〃Look up at the heavens and count the starsif indeed you can count them。〃 Then he said to him； 〃So shall your offspring be。〃
6 亚伯兰信耶和华，耶和华就以此为他的义。
Abram believed the LORD； and he credited it to him as righteousness。
7 耶和华又对他说，我是耶和华，曾领你出了迦勒底的吾珥，为要将这地赐你为业。
He also said to him； 〃I am the LORD； who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land to take possession of it。〃
8 亚伯兰说，主耶和华阿，我怎能知道必得这地为业呢？
But Abram said； 〃O Sovereign LORD； how can I know that I will gain possession of it？〃
9 他说，你为我取一只三年的母牛，一只三年的母山羊，一只三年的公绵羊，一只斑鸠，一只雏鸽。
So the LORD said to him； 〃Bring me a heifer； a goat and a ram； each three years old； along with a dove and a young pigeon。〃
10 亚伯兰就取了这些来，每样劈开，分成两半，一半对着一半地摆列，只有鸟没有劈开。
Abram brought all these to him； cut them in two and arranged the halves opposite each other； the birds； however； he did not cut in half。
11 有鸷鸟下来，落在那死畜的肉上，亚伯兰就把它吓飞了。
Then birds of prey came down on the carcasses； but Abram drove them away。
12 日头正落的时候，亚伯兰沉沉地睡了。忽然有惊人的大黑暗落在他身上。
As the sun was setting； Abram fell into a deep sleep； and a thick and dreadful darkness came over him。
13 耶和华对亚伯兰说，你要的确知道，你的后裔必寄居别人的地，又服事那地的人。那地的人要苦待他们四百年。
Then the LORD said to him； 〃Know for certain that your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own； and they will be enslaved and mistreated four hundred years。
14 并且他们所要服事的那国，我要惩罚，后来他们必带着许多财物从那里出来。
But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves； and afterward they will e out with great possessions。
15 但你要享大寿数，平平安安地归到你列祖那里，被人埋葬。
You； however； will go to your fathers in peace and be buried at a good old age。
16 到了第四代，他们必回到此地，因为亚摩利人的罪孽还没有满盈。
In the fourth generation your descendants will e back here； for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its full measure。〃
17 日落天黑，不料有冒烟的炉并烧着的火把从那些肉块中经过。
When the sun had set and darkness had fallen； a smoking firepot with a blazing torch appeared and passed between the pieces。
18 当那日，耶和华与亚伯兰立约，说，我已赐给你的后裔，从埃及河直到伯拉大河之地，
On that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram and said； 〃To your descendants I give this land； from the river of Egypt to the great river； the Euphrates
19 就是基尼人，基尼洗人，甲摩尼人，
the land of the Kenites； Kenizzites； Kadmonites；
20 赫人，比利洗人，利乏音人，
Hittites； Perizzites； Rephaites；
21 亚摩利人，迦南人，革迦撒人，耶布斯人之地。
Amorites； Canaanites； Girgashites and Jebusites。〃
1 亚伯兰的妻子撒莱不给他生儿女。撒莱有一个使女，名叫夏甲，是埃及人。
Now Sarai； Abram's wife； had borne him no children。 But she had an Egyptian maidservant named Hagar；
2 撒莱对亚伯兰说，耶和华使我不能生育。求你和我的使女同房，或者我可以因她得孩子（得孩子原文作被建立）。亚伯兰听从了撒莱的话。
so she said to Abram； 〃The LORD has kept me from having children。 Go； sleep with my maidservant； perhaps I can build a family through her。〃 Abram agreed to what Sarai said。
3 于是亚伯兰的妻子撒莱将使女埃及人夏甲给了丈夫为妾。那时亚伯兰在迦南已经住了十年。
So after Abram had been living in Canaan ten years； Sarai his wife took her Egyptian maidservant Hagar and gave her to her husband to be his wife。
4 亚伯兰与夏甲同房，夏甲就怀了孕。她见自己有孕，就小看她的主母。
He slept with Hagar； and she conceived。 When she knew she was pregnant； she began to despise her mistress。
5 撒莱对亚伯兰说，我因你受屈。我将我的使女放在你怀中，她见自己有了孕，就小看我。愿耶和华在你我中间判断。
Then Sarai said to Abram； 〃You are responsible for the wrong I am suffering。 I put my servant in your arms； and now that she knows she is pregnant； she despises me。 May the LORD judge between you and me。〃
6 亚伯兰对撒莱说，使女在你手下，你可以随意待她。撒莱苦待她，她就从撒莱面前逃走了。
〃Your servant is in your hands；〃 Abram said。 〃Do with her whatever you think best。〃 Then Sarai mistreated Hagar； so she fled from her。
7 耶和华的使者在旷野书珥路上的水泉旁遇见她，
The angel of the LORD found Hagar near a spring in the desert； it was the spring that is beside the road to Shur。
8 对她说，撒莱的使女夏甲，你从哪里来，要往哪里去。夏甲说，我从我的主母撒莱面前逃出来。
And he said； 〃Hagar； servant of Sarai； where have you e from； and where are you going？〃 〃I'm running away from my mistress Sarai；〃 she answered。
9 耶和华的使者对她说，你回到你主母那里，服在她手下。
Then the angel of the LORD told her； 〃Go back to your mistress and submit to her。〃
10 又说，我必使你的后裔极其繁多，甚至不可胜数。
The angel added； 〃I will so increase your descendants that they will be too numerous to count。〃
11 并说，你如今怀孕要生一个儿子，可以给他起名叫以实玛利，因为耶和华听见了你的苦情。（以实玛利就是神听见的意思）
The angel of the LORD also said to her： 〃You are now with child and you will have a son。 You shall name him Ishmael； for the LORD has heard of your misery。
12 他为人必像野驴。他的手要攻打人，人的手也要攻打他。他必住在众弟兄的东边。
He will be a wild donkey of a man； his hand will be against everyone and everyone's hand against him； and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers。〃
13 夏甲就称那对她说话的耶和华为看顾人的神。因而说，在这里我也看见那看顾我的吗？
She gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her： 〃You are the God who sees me；〃 for she said； 〃I have now seen the One who sees me。〃
14 所以这井名叫庇耳拉海莱。这井正在加低斯和巴列中间。
That is why the well was called Beer Lahai Roi； it is still there； between Kadesh and Bered。
15 后来夏甲给亚伯兰生了一个儿子。亚伯兰给他起名叫以实玛利。
So Hagar bore Abram a son； and Abram gave the name Ishmael to the son she had borne。
16 夏甲给亚伯兰生以实玛利的时候，亚伯兰年八十六岁。
Abram was eighty…six years old when Hagar bore him Ishmael。
1 亚伯兰年九十九岁的时候，耶和华向他显现，对他说，我是全能的神。你当在我面前作完全人，
When Abram was ninety…nine years old； the LORD appeared to him and said； 〃I am God Almighty； walk before me and be blameless。
2 我就与你立约，使你的后裔极其繁多。
I will confirm my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers。〃
3 亚伯兰俯伏在地。神又对他说，
Abram fell facedown； and God said to him；
4 我与你立约，你要作多国的父。
〃As for me； this is my covenant with you： You will be the father of many nations。
5 从此以后，你的名不再叫亚伯兰，要叫亚伯拉罕，因为我已立你作多国的父。
No longer will you be called Abram； your name will be Abraham； for I have made you a father of many nations。
6 我必使你的后裔极其繁多。国度从你而立，君王从你而出。
I will make you very fruitful； I will make nations of you； and kings will e from you。
7 我要与你并你世世代代的后裔坚立我的约，作永远的约，是要作你和你后裔的神。
I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to e； to be your God and the God of your descendants after you。
8 我要将你现在寄居的地，就是迦南全地，赐给你和你的后裔永远为业，我也必作他们的神。
The whole land of Canaan； where you are now an alien； I will give as an everlasting possession to you and your descendants after you； and I will be their God。〃
